So I move to a new place and my well meaning parents, hearing that I don't have a TV and have to lug around a giant CRT monitor, got me a 22 inch Toshiba 22LV50k. Built in DVD player, VGA input for PC connections.
I was a little wary since it seemed like the audio equivalent of monitor speakers, but I was sick of lugging around the CRT so what the hell.
Problem: You need to set the monitor refresh rate to 60hz, otherwise it only works if I boot into VGA mode.
Problem to the problem: the refresh rate setting is locked to "default for hardware".
Experimentation results: Borrowed a friend's PC monitor. Lets me set the refresh rate. Set it to 60hz, took out the cable and pugged it into the Toshiba. Works just fine...until I reboot, then it's back to VGA mode and the refresh setting is locked to "default again".
Notation: It's listed as "default monitor". Needs drivers?
Google turns up nothing. I don't even see this model mentioned anywhere on Toshiba's site (closest is 22LV505 or 506).
Help! Left 4 Dead is right around the corner! |
