| At one point, white detective sees the screenname "Surfer Rosa" on an anonymous mailing list connected with a crime, and he's like "hey partner, wasn't that chick we interviewed earlier wearing a Pixies t-shirt?" and black detective is like "let's roll." That was kinda nice and something they couldn't really do with Lenny and Ding, who only listened to showtunes and La Bamba, respectively. Everyone had a beard, there was a fistfight, and later McCoy was acting like a dick as usual but at least the new ADA let him know it. Here is some trivia about Jack McCoy: his favourite band is The Clash. Presumably this is because they were politically radical, but in a more general and non-specific sense than any self-respecting mick band from the period, from Stiff Little Fingers to The Undertones.
