This is exactly what happened to those shitty Solomon and Great Plains companies right before MS swallowed them, too.

At an old job a few years ago, we switched from Quickbooks to GP. BLARGH. The 16 bit QB Timer that didn't work on Win NT post-SP6 was better. The hacked-together-doesn't-seem-to-work-in-XP-SP2-activex-web-garbage my current company uses is better. The GP shit would spontaneously duplicate menus and completely freak out if you clicked in this one area where there weren't any UI elements. At least their server seemed stable and scalable (Quickbooks degrades rapidly once you reach a certain amount of records).

Seconded, Great Plains is just awful. We've been using it for about two years now, give or take, and it's constantly billing customers twice, not billing them at all, etc. It's ridiculous. QB is much better as far as I'm concerned. |
