It was a good system because it was nearly devoid of external influence. I could Listen Without Prejudice like so much George Michael. Browsing through the lists of new torrents, a name would catch my eye and then if it had comments or was being heavily leeched, I'd take a closer look. Oink was so populated that only old and tired stuff didn't generate ANY interest, and by reading the comments I could easily gauge the enthusiasm for the music inside.
The stalking aspect of Soulseek is much less enjoyable as it's less like eavesdropping in a record store and more like breaking into people's lockers. One locker at a slow fucking time.
I'm giving it a solid try though. |
