Errata: Cage and the woman are examining the Declaration in Philly, to see the Shreddies Secret Message, and Cage pauses for a moment of reflection and says breathlessly, "The last time this was here..... it was being signed!"
Well, he's totally wrong, because it went there in 1876 for the Centennial. THUMBS DOWN.
Ray!
By chronology or importance, that's the new #1.
That scene reminds me of the scene earlier in the film, where Cage is rapping with the blonde at the dinner party. He suddenly flips out when he starts going off about how the Founding Fathers were committing high treason when they signed the DoI. That in itself is fine (and inspired for a Bruckheimer film), but then he has to look her square in the eye and blather something about ONE MUST SOMETIMES DO A BAD THING TO DO THE RIGHT THING, immediately clueing her in that he's suspicious as hell, forcing her to check if he's on the guest list and then Beverly Hills Cop hi-jinx ensue. |
