NeoGAF is the best source available for general gaming news, and most games-related deals that are going around tend to show up there. Here's a link to the first post in their official XBLA thread, which in turn contains a link to the current Deal of the Week and other assorted sales (updated every Tuesday). Whenever I see something really juicy, I try to re-post it here, but even with all my free time I can still only stand to read about video games for a few minutes each day. You might have better luck if you're one of those guys who sits at a desk all day with a hundred tabs open, what d'you call those guys, oh yeah EMPLOYED.
The Xbox Live Database uses some kind of magic computer program to track price drops on the Xbox Live Marketplace. You can filter by content type (GOD, XBLA, DLC, etc.) and other categories.
If you're Canadian and very, very greasy, the games forum on Red Flag Deals is an option. I don't read it myself, though, because what you save in money comes directly out of your soul.
And sometimes deals just fall into my lap. I bought a 2L Diet Dr. Pepper a couple months ago because they were on sale for $1. I noticed there was some kind of check-under-your-cap contest to win EA Sports games, so I took the five minutes to read the rules and realized my odds were crazy ridiculously high. So I bought fifteen bottles at $1 each (knew I'd drink 'em anyway) and ended up with brand new copies of FIFA 13, NHL 13, and Tiger Woods 14, any one of which is worth as much in trade-in credit at EB Games as I spent on the damn soda (that is, if I can't move them on Craigslist first for $CASH MONEY$). Some people say that lotteries are a voluntary tax on the stupid; if that's true, then I guess that makes me the fucking tax man 8) |
