If an American can live in this country and know as little about it as you do, for example, then I think it is fair to infer that people in other countries can make similar (although certainly much more understandable) mistakes. Socialism is not centrist by any historical standard in Europe. A general shift to the left in the past half-century is just that, and does not represent a need to recenter the political spectrum from the numerous centuries' establishment of basic political definitions to make your own views arbitrarily more palatable to others.
I know quite a bit about America and American history, thank you and I've got the college credits to prove it. Unlike you, what I know sends shivers up my spine at how utterly stupid and savage most Americans are. If Europeans are leftist in a historical sense now it's because they were fortunate enough to have most of their warmongers wiped right out of the genepool by WWII, which wouldn't do America a lick of good because much of our modern aristocracy (artistic celebrities aside) is composed of warmongers with only the occasional exception. But all this is beside the point - we weren't discussing where Europeans were politically relative to their history, we were discussing where they are now. You came in unrequested and started making uninformed comments out of your ass about European politics without bothering to inform any of us that you were including the Europe of the 1920s as well. Shut the fuck up already, nobody cares. --SB
