Re: Dexter connection

That reminds me to point out that even though Dexter is a serial murderer protagonist, you might still approve, since he only kills other serial murderers. So basically he's a paladin.
DENIED. He has assburgers and he fools around. That reminds me that I really liked Raines, because Jeff Goldblum was in it, but actually I hated Raines because everything in the show was so awful and stupid. Crime shows are dumb like crime is dumb. Back in the day when I was still working at UPS, I spent a few weeks across the belt from an excitable and damaged redhead. BLAH BLAH ABUSE STORIES. Or rather: she told hers as soon as she thought I wouldn't "judge" her for it, and she was absolutely beyond furious when I didn't feel like telling her, a complete stranger, about my scars and sexual hang-ups in return. Nor indeed would I ever! Because as soon as someone asks for that shit, they've proved themselves to have an unhealthy interest in scars and sexual hang-ups. Who the fuck just asks for that kind of information at work?! I digress, and so did she: to a discussion of Silence Of The Lambs, a movie that is totally Zseniproof and I would never watch it in a million years because it's calculated to flip my shit right out. "But don't you think it's interesting?" Red moaned. "No, I think it's horrible." This statement made her even more feverishly curious about how badly I was raped, because only victims of violent and repeated rape could possibly loathe sadism. She took my loathing of sadism as a mental disorder. "But don't you want to know how criminals think? You know, what motivates them?" "No. Good lord no. You must be kidding." "I want to study abnormal psychology," She purred, practically licking her lips. "I took a class on deviant sexuality and it was fascinating. I can't believe you don't want to know about that stuff. I thought you were a really smart person." This discussion actually happened! I always think about that girl when people talk about law-n-order-type shows where some "interestingly" excitable and damaged person is trying to solve crimes. I secretly think that all you motherfuckers are very fucked up people using these TV shows to revisit traumatic moments in your lives. I also secretly suspect that all psychologists are more fucked up than their patients.
