It was the worst game out of the box because I couldn't play it out of the box. Any and all goodwill I had for that game had a nuclear bomb dropped on it when I was browsing some forum after the game was released and saw a thread all about the necessary (not suggested, necessary) fixes you had to make to your installation in order to play it without ripping all your hair out. While you may like DX2: The Game more than the other ones you listed (I hated the game in general, any, but thats not the immediate point) it's hard to argue that the DX2 configuration wasn't so fucking awful out of the box that anyone without knowledge of the internet or how to apply community-made tweaks wouldn't immediately hulk up and throw the CD case through the wall.
