After a couple playthroughs though it starts getting to the point where games are 90% pure luck. (Oasis didn't have that problem until the hardest difficulty levels)
PROBLEMS!:
- The default dungeon is only good for dicking around a couple of times and unlocking some classes. After that, it all comes down to whether or not the boss will completely fuck your class over (golem against wizard, slimes against beserkers, etc.).
- Most of the gods are useless. Only Dracul and The Pactmaker provide any reliable benefit. The rest range from useless to detrimental. Too much of a crapshoot on getting Dracul/Pactmaker and not the goddamn Earthmother.
- Half the spells are useless. One of them is there solely to accommodate the goddamn Earthmother. The teleports and exploration are instant recycle material. A wizard not starting near fireball is fucked. Get fireball, blood to power, and poison or you're fucked.
- Item shops. They're either going to be overpoweringly good for the map (poison immunity on snake pit) or useless.
- The gold mechanic. Why does it carry over from map to map? Why not just start at zero every map then just adjust item prices accordingly? It's pretty damn tedious grinding back up to max gold between "real" runs.
