Strange, I think I found the Earthmother to be the most useful god. I forget how exactly. It's been a while.

Teleporting is primarily for the chaos god. Saving it in case you run into him might be nice, unless you don't like him. I liked him, once I'd learned how he worked. I think I used the spell to escape danger once in a while, too.

I think it's your memory. The Earthmother is by far the worst. The only useful boon she has is the ultimate one where you get additional bonuses every level up. In order to get that, you have to find her altar and the monsters to stone spell at level 1, kill around ten monsters, turn a bunch of others to stone (denying yourself the experience), then activate her "dead monsters to plants" ability. Both the stoned monsters and plants have a very good chance of sealing you off and fucking you over. You can't destroy the stone walls with her either without a massive piety hit. The conditions for all that to happen are so unlikely that I don't know anyone who's run into it before.

Dracul? Extremely useful as long as there aren't any undead. Pactmaker? Good experience bonuses without any downsides whatsoever.

Chaos god makes you do too many useless things for useless rewards. The other two hate magic and there are only about 2 classes that can get away with no magic.
