AnnualCreditReport.com is the official site that all of the credit reporting companies set up to allow you to get the credit report you're entitled to by federal law at no charge. FreeCreditReport.com is an alternative site that tries to make people think it's the place where they can get the free credit report, but what they do is require you to authorize a credit card to subscribe to the service, that if you don't call them and cancel, they then charge you $9.95 a month.
