Yeah, and people typed on the keys very quickly, so much so they kept jamming the mechanism. So the American typewriter company rearranged the keyboard back in 1888, to put Q at the start of the keyboard. This says something about the power of an installed base, in that even today, more than 120 years later, we still use a keyboard designed to slow people down when typing!
