I played the remake and thought it was OK. The best feature was the art, no doubt. The puzzles were fair-ish, with two total bullshit parts
1) The tank. How the fuck am I supposed to know which buttons to push and in what order? Pure trial and error, where error means death and the prior save point was right before some running and shooting.
2) There's a room where you have to let a guard throw one of those bouncy grenades or whatever the fuck they were at you so it would fall down a shaft to a room below and destroy an obstacle. This was bullshit because the guard shouldn't have thrown the grenade, given they need to bounce along the ground and it would obviously drop into the shaft. And up until I checked gamefaqs I didn't even know that guards would throw grenades! You have to stand around in front of them with your shield up! |
