I guess I just don't get it by Worm 02/04/2013, 7:17pm PST If these guys suddenly found the means to reprint some overpriced SNES cart(like Earthbound) would Emulation of an 18 year old game suddenly have some kind of different ethics to it? When I bought an old Dreamcast at a game store should I have been obligated to buy the games they had for sale for it rather than the ease of pirating on it? I don't think it's anything about "try-instead-of-buy" or anything like that, it's just a ROM that has been ripped for probably over a decade and it doesn't get some magical status simply because someone decided to sell it. I'll admit it's a faux pas but this isn't even last gen emulator talk, it's last last last gen emulator talk. I'm sure they're going to do fine with it since this whole retro fad is so hot, but mentioning emulation in an article about this game is no more offensive than mentioning it in an article about Earthbound costing 200 dollars on Ebay. It's such a commonplace thing that everyone trying to cash in on this retro fad is going to deal with it.
