Yeah, but they are on location at bars, typically. If I buy a gin and tonic for $4.75 and it costs the bar a dollar for that drink and I only went to that bar because they had a pinball table, then the profit in the alcohol will start to cover the price of the pinball table.

I suspect that bars get tables for a little bit less than what Stern places as the MSRP, but I'd be surprised if it were more than a couple hundred bucks off that figure.

Oh, that does make some sense. Being a lifetime teetotaler - I've never liked the taste of anything alcoholic - I've never gone to bars, I had no idea that a pinball machine might be the "killer app" for a particular bar, one of the things that draws people to a bar.

I mean, I know unattached women who are sexually available are a killer app for some a lot of    bars, but I hadn't thought of pinball machines as being that much of an attraction to them!
