One of the classes is "Lawyer." I am trying to come up with fun lawyer perks by Ice Cream Jonsey 10/08/2013, 12:29pm PDT I was at that age where I was at whatever age I was when that meaty Fallout manual came out. Spiral bound. Cold war. "Albert is most easily described as a lawyer." Oh fuck you Fallout! Now that I am trying to make a CRPG, I thought Lawyer would be a fun class. I guess the main thing I want is for the lawyer to be able to destroy a class of enemies. If the enemy is human and likely has "a record," I would like the lawyer to be able to serve warrants, thus taking that enemy out of combat. Its analog would be "turn undead." I'm worried that I only know about stereotypes, thus this thread. I don't want this game to be like that. Fun things this class could do would be: 1) Obtaining money for the party by providing legal advice to certain NPCs. 2) Getting into places the party normally couldn't, by standing up for the party's rights. Let's say a crooked cop isn't letting people into this one spot. Maybe only a few squares to explore. With a lawyer in your party, you could get there. 3) I am not so certain that the party would go to "jail"... and I think a lawyer getting them out of jail would be a cliche. But perhaps the police could try to question the party if everyone's hit points went to zero. A lawyer could stop the party from losing a lot of money to those goddamn corrupt policemen. 4) The cliche is that everyone hates lawyers! I could let the lawyer enter a mode where all the enemy's attacks would go to the lawyer first. Only problem is that I want that exact thing for the "Troll" class. People hate trolls a lot. So I don't know. We have some lawyers here. What special powers should they have in an RPG? ICJ
