Those are called "bombs" and if you don't use them when you fuck up, you die. Raiden had those, too. Complaining about players using bombs in shmups is like complaining about zerg rushes in starcraft.

I have already admitted that I fucked up when I had a BWR contest with all the settings put on absolute easiest, thus eliminating the challenge-porn aspect, because I didn't want to scare people off. My mistake.

You've been trying to convince everyone here that they're wrong for not liking these games for 4 years now, man. File them away under One Must Fall and the rest of the cold cases.
