Simulationist games focus on lots of elements and authenticity, gamist ones are by fucking newbie 01/03/2014, 1:15pm PST
supposed to focus on fun mechanics. If you try to bring this across to pen and paper games, though, you start finding that gamist ones focus on hack and slash and narrativeist ones, the third category, focus on storytelling.

Google simulationist/gamist/narrativist and you'll get the Big Theory of games or whatever it's called now, they'll fill your head with their bullshit. Sometimes useful for critical discourse, sometimes useful for telling people they're having the wrong kind of fun if you're a tard.
