I agree with everything else you said, but this is like saying that an electrician is expendable because a bunch of new grads came out of trade school. Have you had the pleasure of working on a software project with a new grad or visa worker? I am not being challenging, honestly curious. My experience is that it sucks.
I really want to state again that I agreed and enjoyed the rest of your post!
