I guess this was DS game that was recently ported to PC.
Phoenix Wright meets And Then There Were None set in and starring the cast of Persona.
Bunch of characters trapped in a dark world high school hosted by an evil teddy bear offering them a reality show setup where the only way out is murdering someone and getting away it. Murder happens, walk around looking at clues, hold a Phoenix Wright trial to decide who's guilty. If they vote wrong, the killer is set free and everyone else dies.
It side steps one of the big issues Phoenix Wright had by not making the investigation segments so drawn out.
A new downside is it takes FOREVER to get to the first murder. I think it was two whole hours. And when you did reach it it was basically a tutorial.
Another Phoenix Wright downside is the characters being much dumber than the player and having to wait for them to catch up. The first murder scene has one of the character's names written in blood on the wall, apparently by the victim. "Is this really the killer or a red herring?" I thought, but because the name is written upside down everyone thinks it's a bunch of numbers??? You spend half the investigation asking everyone what the numbers could mean. Seriously? Only at the end of the trial does everyone see it's a name. Hopefully the later trials are tougher.
If you were into the Phoenix Wright games and can power through the first hour or two I would recommend it. |
