This has been the sentiment echoed around by colleagues, even those who aren't fans of Trump. CNN, the victim, has a different opinion in an exclusive interview with CNN (Source: CNN).

Privacy may not be a right, abortion aside, but online anonymity is a first amendment responsibility.

I agree with the spirit of what Id is saying from a Federalist Papers perspective.

Alleged extortion, especially the threatening post-script, from K-File & Friends doesn't feel like a great pillar of journalistic investigation and integrity (even if they are legally clear). It really does read as a lash out over caught feelings from a twitter embed. Then the cries of racism to seek approval in the court of mainstream media for the unforgivable crime of mockery. That, for sure, vindicates them as totally not vengeful, and a crucial, credible news source.
