This was supposed to be paid DLC, but they released it for free and added a tip jar instead.
Random maps now all have a single dataport where you can jack into the dungeon's local virtual reality matrix. Visually it's almost just like the Genesis version of Shadowrun, but I'm not sure yet if the combat is as complex. However, my current save is low-level and like I said earlier, this is a game whose systems really open up in the higher levels.
If you aren't interested in spending the money on your deck (basically a 5th party member) matrix-running is optional.
Much more successful attempt at the Matrix than all the Harebrained Schemes Shadowrun games, but probably not as good as Decker.
If you haven't bought Starcrawlers yet, I recommend it. Easily one of the best indie RPGs out there. The Genesis version of Shadowrun meets Etrian Odyssey-style proc and synergy-heavy turn-based combat. |
