I had to check the filename to make sure I didn't accidentally watch the extended blu-ray cut, because that's what it felt like - and not in a bad way. I think they grossly overestimated how empty major urban areas would be with half the population gone. I know if half my building disappeared tomorrow, it wouldn't take my landlord FIVE YEARS to find new tenants, unless maybe he insisted on pre-Thanos market rates. And half the population, what is that, 3.9 billion people? That was Earth's population in 1973, the year they made Soylent Green (the movie, not the food). Give us 50 years and it'll be like Thanos never existed. The only species that aren't bouncing back would be the already severely endanged ones. I guess nigga just hated pandas?
Captain Marvel was fabulous, one of the best standalone origin movies since Iron Man. I think it helped my appreciation that I like films about blonde girls with big tits and I remember the '90s. |
