| I've been spending my nights watching this guy livestream on his Facebook the Minnesota Riots. I usually wouldn't mention this kind of thing, but I really like this guy. He really tries not to offer his opinion on what is happening around unless he is only emotionally reacting to it and he does a good job of remaining objective. He'll get the random fool's opinion but we don't need to hear his for four hours, and this guy just tries to describe what he's seeing. At various points last night he would drop his backpack to ruffle through it and offer first aid, helped people in an apartment building erect signs that read "Children Asleep Inside" or "Community & Black Owned Businesses" then he came across the fire reaching residential homes, had to help evacuate them, helped rescue a cat. He had started with the peaceful march, which worked it's way to the looters where the crowds mixed. He consciously avoids filming faces... But there are clearly a lot of white people, not from this area, who for whatever reason have come in to loot and burn. Towards the end he rested by some local reporters. They were set up nearby the police where it was safe, just waiting to do their Live Shot. They had no idea what was going on really or even what they were currently even seeing and eventually Andrew Mercardo had to fill them in.
This guy already has enough footage for an award winning documentary, and this thing isn't even over yet. I figured I should mention it, y'know you should check him out on The Facebook tonight. |
