why would you order something online and have to wait if the Gamestop near you has exactly the controller, or whatever you want?

Then add in all the stuff they aren't doing. Why not sell board games and things like that? Why do I have to buy board games in a dank, sad, store run by the fucking comic book guy or from Amazon? Even shit like puzzles could sell considering that toy stores have pretty much disappeared.

DFV's point from his video about them focusing on in person gaming, both tabletop and console/PC makes sense too as a way to bring people into the store even when they aren't intending on buying something.

They've got 5,509 retail stores throughout the United States, Canada, Australia, New Zealand, and Europe. That's a solid fucking footprint in a lot of valuable markets

they started to do something like really run with their idea of turning stores into in-person gaming places and start serving coffee, food/snacks, and maybe even beer and wine.

I know a lot of people that would like a comfortable, clean, nice place to get a group of people together to play tabletop games that serves food and drinks and doesn't try to kick people out. In fact I've been to a brewery / coffe
e shop in Portland that did exactly that and it was full of people on a weekday night.
