I've got a backlog of British TV as long as my arm. The last Dr Who I saw was the one where that foulmouthed Scotsman from In The Loop tried to punch his way out of a crystal castle. I liked it! I hear they replaced him with a milfy lady doctor, which sounds alright by me, but I've got so many old movies on my platter that she would need tits the size of watermelons to jump the queue.
If anyone's looking for a place to start with Sherlock Holmes, I can't recommend the Jeremy Brett TV series enough. He was a bipolar disaster zone, but he was also the Kevin Conroy of Sherlock Holmes. Once you've seen all of those, try the 1930s Universal movies for a laugh. Some of them are even original material, and Nigel Bruce is always worth watching. (If you need an introduction to Nigel Bruce, Alfred Hitchcock's Suspicion was arguably his greatest role). |
