I guess the precident of silly-looking-but-actually-fun Beach Spikers PLUS the fact that the lead producer also made Dead or Alive 3 raised my expectations of what DOAXBV could have been. Sadly, it's actually a game about collecting trinkets with a trivial volleyball component. I haven't tried playing the volleyball portion against another human yet, but all indicators point to a severe lack of depth.

I AM VERY DISAPPOINTED.


So you know it's gotta be worth a 5 or 3. A game with good production values and no fun at all = you have to shave off a couple entire points.

And the fan reviews are like THIS GAME IS JAPANESE, 9.5!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! VICE CITY ISN'T AS GOOD

Someone actually compared the shitty elevator soundtrack of DOAX to Vice City's nostalgia classics, and said it was more deserving of being on a CD. Apparently they didn't notice that Vice City's entire soundtrack has actually been on about 100 or so CDs before the game was even conceived.
