Caltrops - Gamerasutra - Not a Steam game, but I regret buying WH40K Battlesector DLCs every time.

I love turn-based tactics, and Battlesector has much nicer graphics and a larger number of factions (though less units each) and every few months I keep wasting $15-$20 on the latest and greatest DLC.

But when I actually play the game it's a buggy mess. Last night I played a game where I had a line of Aggressors set to overwatch, and they're melee units so they also were supposed to exert zone-of-control and get a free attack against anything that gets in front of them. Then in the computer's turn, the very first move was a group of tyranids that moved diagonally through a square that should have gotten it shot and power-punched four times, and sauntered unmolested past my blockade and into my backline to tear up my artillery units. It's always been a buggy mess, but the bugs keep popping up AFTER I've bought the DLC.

But it's reasonably pretty and they keep promising massive bug-squashing patches and I fall for it EVERY. TIME.
