| You could start at The John Birch Society and talk about The Moral Majority or The Federalist Society, but you could boil it down to simply a better funded and run propaganda machine as well as the hidden iceberg of racism the majority of white America fosters.
FOX News and the right wing noise machine might be the most successful propaganda machine in human history. Goebbels and Stalin needed a vast network of secret police and executions to back their words up. Rupert Murdoch convinced at least 40% of America that being squeezed to death by billionaires is a good thing. But none of it would have been possible if white suburban and rural America wasn't scared to death of dark skinned folks. The people who think they're not racist because they don't think all blacks should be lynched. Instead, they see darkies like pitbulls: tolerated only with proper training to make them civilized but be ready for them to turn savage and attack at any moment. People still believe the Birth of a Nation narrative that blacks will attack and rape decent white folk the instant whites lose unquestioned power. It's why the Republican party was revived by the Civil Rights Act and Democrats haven't recovered to this day. Scared white suburbanites will nod along that Black Lives Matter is a violent terrorist group if the news shows so much as a cracked window in the aftermath of a protest, while making endless excuses for white Jan 6 terrorists and the countless footage of them violently tearing apart the capitol by the thousands. The coup event that was the exact same thing as the fictional mob violence in Birth of a Nation that racists used to justify their actions for a hundred years. "These poor white folks have suffered enough. Do they really deserve 10 months in prison?" while an immigrant with photoshopped knuckle tattoos deserves life in an El Salvador gulag. The Chapos and Seders and Some More News are part of the problem too. As much as the right will set aside any dislike of their candidates as long as the right people are hated, the dirtbag left will attack and sabotage any Democrat and liberal who tries to form any kind of coalition. My rage moment was when Seder, the dummy Emma, and Stuttering Mumbles scoffed at the mere name drop of Brian Tyler Cohen. Bitch, he's out there trying to close the gap between politics and new media that the right mastered a decade ago. What the fuck are you doing besides smugly psh'ing into a mic? "I can't vote for Biden after he didn't immediately withdraw all support for Israel. Wait...how could Trump possibly have won whaaaaaaaa? Surely Gaza will do better now!" I would almost support ICE becoming the official totalitarian secret police if I got to see the Trap House crew lined up against the wall even just one spot ahead of me. |
