GTA 3 was one of the biggest leaps forward in gaming...a quarter of a century go.

I can understand people being excited over the next couple of sequels.

But the fuck is with this rush to preorder $80 minimum digital copies, new rigs or consoles just to play it, or really giving any kind of shit about an open world driving game in 2026 made by the loudest, unfunniest satirists working today? In a timeline where Just Cause and Saints Row exist and can be scooped up in a bundle or under half the cost?

I am with you on all of this. And Hangman.

I kind of wanted to see what they were up to. I liked 3 a lot. I think 4 is a good game if you get past the jokes. I actively disliked V.

(Multiplayer on V was fun.)

But as an example: Mouse P.I. just went on sale. I bought it today. I missed all the discussion about it. I can go back and read what people said, sure, and none of this really matters in the real world. But I don't know. It's not like the moment has passed and it probably has no "spoilers." It would have been nice to be able to talk GTA6 over with people the first week it comes out.

You don't have to agree with any of this so far. But - I would have totally been fine buying GTA6, playing it for a few days and then selling it for a $15 loss or something locally. Someone with discipline could give me $60 for it in some WalMart parking lot. Everyone wins. This, to me, has been one of the very few benefits of consoles, the ability to resell something since I can't resell my Steam key for a game.

But Rockstar thought of that, they sure thought of that. Now it's a permanent $80 commitment. Ehhhhhhhhhhh.
