Nobody had seen anything like GTA...in 2001. It redefined what we thought was possible in games

It is not 2001 anymore. Tons of open world games have surpassed GTA in the fun department. What is left for GTA appeal? The seven hundred shallow boring mini games? Certainly not the gunplay or the writing. Coasting on nostalgia "first" fumes?

I would understand "I still think it's kinda fun...I guess". But not this cultural tsunami everyone is lining up to get bilked $100 and a new system for.
