So I'm flipping around the AM dial, desperately trying to coax something intelligible out of all the fuzz. I finally get something faint coming in through the snow. It's some douchebag talk radio guy, and he's relating what a testosterone rush he got watching the CNN coverage of the bombardment of Baghdad. The guy had a hardon watching the carnage. He went on and on about it, it was... disgusting. I was incredulous, just listening to the guy.

Have we really reached this point, this place where we've lost all respect for life? Have we been at this point and I'm just being naive about it? At what point do you forget that the fireballs mushrooming up over the desert = lots and lots of fucking dead people? Regardless of your stance on the war, it's absolutely subhuman to express this kind of glee over people, any people, getting blown limb-from-limb by Tomahawks.

I understand perfectly the realities of war, and yes, I know, the douchebag in question was probably just pandering for ratings or what have you, but I hope - truly - that we can do better than this.
