The last thing I remember was at the end of the 2nd book when they were all on some sort of a fucking Thomas the Tank Engine sentient subway that was threatening to crash and kill them all if they didn't answer some riddles and it suddenly occured to me that I really didn't give a shit that I would have to wait 3 years to see how this cliffhanger turned out. Soon thereafter it occured to me that nobody edits Stephen King anymore.
Did the series actually recover from there or is it just sko bourgeiose faggot thing that can only be appreciated by bourgeiose faggots? I think I actually have the third book somewhere. Even in my darkest moments of having to shit really bad and having nothing to read I've reread Hammett rather than pick it up. Mistake on my part?
