Did the series actually recover from there or is it just sko bourgeiose faggot thing that can only be appreciated by bourgeiose faggots? I think I actually have the third book somewhere. Even in my darkest moments of having to shit really bad and having nothing to read I've reread Hammett rather than pick it up. Mistake on my part?
