Well, his grammar fetish is kind of obnoxious. But really the direction the magazine is heading is not directly linked to his opinions...he has always allowed the reigning editor maximum discretion.

NR print just has a lot of bitching and whining about immorality and things like that. I remember one screed against tattoos that I found particularly bizarre. Also, ever since 9/11 they've been on this whole war of civilizations kick that is a little tiresome.

His novels were good? Really? Wow. You're the first person I know that has read them. Anything you'd consider them similar to?
