I think anybody trying to hear this band fresh now just won't get it because I've lost count of the times I've heard a song on the radio and said, "O they're ripping off the Pixies again." My favorite band of all time.

Another example: Tonight on Letterman, the Ravonettes. I dug the song they played, but it was pretty much a Pixies song. Which is probably why I dug it. Plus: female bass player/singer.

Are they good? There's a record store on 4th st that's been pimping their record with a huge sign since 2000. I think maybe they're local favorites or something? I like the greaser look, that's usually a sign that the guitar player will at least know how to play something. And the name is great. But that's not enough for me to get off my ass and check them out. (Maybe I'll watch that mov later...)
