I think the problem is that you realize very quickly that the ghosts and SCARY THINGS can't actually hurt you (until later, when they can, but they're pussies). Also: the unfairly killed/tortured/experimented on pale girl ghost has been done to death. I guess the graphics are nice and the combat is fun the first 40-50 times you do it. The lack of variety really, really destroys this game's chance of being remembered.
