Re: Gamefaqs disagrees with you by Motherhead 10/23/2005, 10:27am PDT There was nothing about this game's engine that brings anything new to the table. How much did it cost them to clumsily reinvent the wheel? My guess, not as much as a Source license. The entire game would have worked better as a HL2 Mod. Though I didn't encounter any of the audio problems you did. What I did find appealing: Killing people is strangely satisfying in this game. Quake 4 - I shoot the alien bio-mechanical thing and it doesn't respond so much until it's dead, then it disappears. Disappointing. Whereas in FEAR I can actually imagine the evil clone spec-op dude saying, "OWFUCKFUCKSHITFUCK!" while they are dancing around throwing jets of blood all over the wall. Better.
