Regardless of how hard it is to do during actual combat by athodyd 11/04/2005, 7:37pm PST I think that the only reason most games prevent you from just popping out the clip and putting in a new one is some kind of attempt to balance a 40-year-old bolt-action rifle against The Greatest Implement Of War Ever Devised. COD2 and most other games have you instantly topping off your 71-round PPSh drum and redistributing the ammo along the other magazines, so I doubt realism was a significant factor, and to be completely honest trying to use a 98k in a game that presents the M1 and the Kar as more or less equal in accuracy and power (COD, DOD:S) just plain sucks if you're anything less than a vatgrown ninja yakuza clone cyborg assassin from every William Gibson story ever written. Anybody ever played Medal of Honor: Pacific Assault? I hear they've got the Johnson in it, and I'm curious to see whether they decided it was better or worse than the Garand.
