| I asked for Earth, Wind, and Fire, and I got it, I asked for the ZOE2 OST and I got it, I wondered what the album Min plays in the background at Sakura-bana was and I found it, my hard drives are glutted with hundreds of albums and I should be well content.
EXCEPT I'M NOT (FROWNY.) I'm looking for pretty - terrifically, fearfully pretty - music. Somewhere in the middle of the stately and regal loveliness of certain chamber music suites, the icy winter-y superproduced pretty of songs like Maaya Sakamoto's "Kuuki to Hoshi", the splendid and thrilling electronic gorgeousness of Bjork's "Joga" or "Bachelorette", the ancient courtly beauty of medieval chansons, the organic intellectual handsomeness of Scott Walker('s voice in particular, or the formal warmth and depth of Inoue Takehide or David Sylvian when he isn't mincing {painfully infrequently}), the ... I can go on in that vein for a while. But I'm hitting a pretty wall here trying to find pretty things to listen to. THAT MEET MY STANDARDS. Difficult, probably impossible. Still, any leads would be appreciated. ps: if you haven't heard "Kuuki to Hoshi" and you like pretty things... I'll do a Maaya Sakamoto/Yoko Kanno mini-torrent after Tilt is seeded. 5 or 6 songs or so. |
