It's a nice combo of New Age, classical, Celtic, the slightest hints of electronica in a few songs, and whatever you want to call Joy Division (new wave? goth? I don't know, I never was good with remembering what genre applies to what music) in their older stuff. And I love Lisa Gerrard's voice. In particular, while I liked most of the album "A Passage In Time" (a sort of greatest hits collection, and the first LP I'd ever heard from them), it was "Cantara" that made me a convert. Soon I found myself buying every LP I could find. More often than not, they scored. They opened the doors for groups like Deep Forest and Enigma, while IMO being infinitely better than either.
