Socket 939 is on it's way out. Don't expect any cool new 939 CPUs or mainboards.

AM2 is socket 939 with provision for DDR2. Hurray for DDR2 on AMD.

There are a few reasons why I am not a huge fan of AM2. Here is a play I wrote about a guy talking to AMD:
