I don't know if this is really the case or if it's just the angle CBS is pushing (since I've managed to avoid watching a single episode), but Shark strikes me as a transparent attempt to transplant FOX's House into a nautical setting. Boston Public's Seven of Nine also features prominently in the advertising, reminding me that my initial suspicion of Grand Theft David E. Kelley was probably not far off.
Browsing Wikipedia just now though, I see that the pilot episode was directed by Spike Lee, who is apparently some big Ally McDeal in Afro-American circles. I might have to watch it after all, if only to express my solidarity with the black man and our shared racial half-brother, the black/white man. |
