Occam's razor suggests arrogance and denial. by motherfuckerfoodeater 11/08/2006, 6:48pm PST As has been noted elsewhere in these forums (because Caltrops is the world's best source of information) the current administration isn't as smart as it might look on paper. I'm guessing that whoever it is that really is "The Decider" assumed that their candidates would pull it off at the last minute, and that they wouldn't have to make any concessions. Now that things have gone the way they obviously would, they're panicking, and desperately doing what they can to curry favor with the public while still keeping things essentially the way they are. (Chances of a change in torture policy: 0)
