19. Halo 2 (Xbox) - Master Chief Rides the Bomb
Can you use any cutscene as an example for this fucking article? Yea this was a nice part of the game... which I watched a zillion times. You reach a point where you just say "this really is kinda ridiculous" and start skipping every cutscene in the game.
I finally looked this up on Youtube after hearing for the 50th time how it's the awesomest thing ever. How do you manage to take riding a bomb in the middle of a spaceship battle and blowing something up boring? Tons of hype for a boring product, just like Halo itself.
18. Warcraft III (PC) - The Death of Hellscream
I thought this was gay. They were trying really hard to make orcs interesting and [whatever] like the Klingons in Star Trek. So they totally rip off Star Trek TNG and DS9, and then water it down so it's not entertaining. Nice fire effects on the demon guys mouth tho. It's like theyre glowing inside his head.

16. Ico (PS2) - Opening
So did this game not suck? I never played it, but I watched a "speed run" video on youtube where the character leads a girl by the hand all over the place, like an extended version of that one part in MGS2. Until someone answers my question about Ico's possible quality Im gonna skip this video.
I liked it in the "art experiment" sense, but Ico/SotC it loses its entire appeal when you're watching a cutscene as opposed to watching actualy gorgeous gameplay footage.
12. WarHammer 40K Dawn of War (PC) - Opening
Why is this in 12th? Fucking IGNspy fuck faggot fucks (fags). They are cunts for putting this right next to shit ass wowcraft as well.
The trailer that launched thousands of sales, something that not even Halo did since anyone who is impressed by Halo trailers will buy the damn thing anyway.
11. Metal Gear Solid 2 (PS2) - Opening
Bungie jumping is the cool new thing huh. BUNGIE JUMPING? YES. Also, he breaks the stealth camo which is the only actually good part of this video. STEALTH CAMO? It's an ok scene but definitely not better than the Warhammer 40k Dawn of War opening, so fuck this. WARHAMMER FOURTY THOUSAND DAWN OF WAR? (ugh thats annoying) Purified hydrogen bomb.
Maybe they were talking about the other intro with the credits and flying DNA helixes and spoiler scenes from the game you have yet to play.
That one was worse.
9. Resident Evil 2 (PS2) - Opening
Spameguy.com's opinion: "It was a great way to kick off a great game." Fuck them and fuck you, these games were motherfucking ass. Not a single RE game was worth playing until 4. Guess how I know. I fucking purchased RE2 with my first Playstation. I even somehow managed to beat that pile of shit after a few months. I had more fun NOT beating GTA1 than playing RE2. Parasite Eve is a better game than RE2.
Resident Evil 2: the Halo of survival horror. Always hyped as something great when it's actually rehashed boring.
It was a decent opening for the time, but the Resident Evil 3 intro was better. In fact, the Resident Evil 4 intro with Leon PSHing with two spanish dudes in a jeep was better.
8. Silent Hill (PS1) - Opening
Is this good? I don't remember. Ok hm.
The best opening ever. 8 is the new 1.
5. Resident Evil: Code Veronica (Dreamcast) - Opening
Do not care. Gamespy is easily impressed.
I think it was Claire running through a building with a helicopter machinegun shattering windows behind her, then she Matrix shoots a conveniently placed propane tank by a bunch of guards. Pretty standard stuff.
4. Warcraft III (PC) - Arthas' Betrayal
The most inactive cinema scene, perhaps ever. He walks around, he stabs the king (offscreen), he talks. Why is this on the list?
That was pretty much every cutscene for the game. "Awesome thing about to happen, cut to shadow on the ground". Add in rose pedals. This wasn't even one of the top 25 Warcraft III cutscenes.
3. StarCraft: Brood War (PC) - Opening
I almost hated this for a second just because its on their faggy list. Then I remembered, oh yea its the opening to broo wars.
Good for the time, has been surpassed many times since (Dawn of War?)
2. MechWarrior 2 (PC) - Opening
Wow those effects are fucking terrible. How do you just one shot a mech like that anyway? And didn't mechs fall down if one leg was damaged? That is stupid bullshit. :(
The intro where it's just the camera flying through clouds before showing 2 mechs on a cliff? That was boring.
No Ominush 3? Kane shooting Seth in the head (probably the most remembered cutscene of the 90s, if not ever)?
