| But only because all their armour apart from the Firefly is specialised Vs light vehicles and infantry and evaporates if a Panzershrek gets near it.
Of course, the Firefly has a longer range than every other tank in the game (apart from the Marder) and when the Command Tank is near it then it's even more monstrous, but it's the end-tree unit for the British, so it should be. I think the Panzer Elite Marder III still has a 50% damage bonus Vs all American tanks (which includes the Firefly cos of it's Sherman chassis). British are good fun to play as once you get a hang of the moving HQ and emplacements, even though they pretty much break the game. Relic's Expansion legacy continues with games resulting in Ranger/Fallschirm/Commando spam (with poor Wehrmacht holding out till their FREE FUCKING KING TIGER). I think it pretty much hinges on the next patch as to whether a sizeable chunk of the competitive community leaves as Relic are pretty inept, it's two steps forward and one step back most of the time, progress is happening albeit slowly. Meh, it's fun enough to watch but I've really been turned off actual playing, as have many, till some key issues are sorted (which were pointed out here a while ago) the biggest of which being mid-game AT vs late game armour, what's the point in spending huge amounts of resources getting swish tanks when a tier 2 unit for half the price can render it useless? Aaaanyway, the two new sides are more powerful than the old ones, American vs Wehrmacht is reasonably balanced (as long as they don't go Rangers), Werhmacht vs British is slightly in the Brits favour (thanks to the panzershrek for the WM), Brits vs Panzer Elite is reasonable, as they're both overpowered vs each other and American vs Panzer Elite is pretty much a no go for American, you will lose unless you're of much greater skill than your opponent and you spam Rangers like there is no tomorrow, otherwise :( Aaaaaaanyway (#2), the campaigns are pretty fun, so play them. As much as the game frustrates me, I still consider it the best RTS around :( |
