| I think every Canadian accent is on the emplacements (most notably the 25 lber). One of the Infantry Section's most picked upon members is "Duffy" named after Quinn Duffy, a dev at Relic, who's Canadian. I think that's the best you'll get.
Tommies are British, Sappers are Scottish, Leftenants and Captains are English, I believe the tanks are all English too and Commandos are all English. If you're going to play the campaign I'd recommend not patching up, but I don't think you have the option any more, the 25 lber's accuracy has been raped which makes certain missions very difficult (compared to "far too easy" before), though you can almost compensate for the problem as it aims about a reticle further than you actually click...mostly (this was done to stop shots falling within it's minimum range, except now it can fire well beyond it's maximum) I will put that forward though, the voice work is brilliant. There's a lot of "Battle Chatter" which you can only hear if you're zoomed in on the units, but the level of detail and interaction between units is amazing. For example: When two Tommy squads are near each other and one gets an upgrade, the other squad will mumble "Why don't we get one of those?" with the original squad replying "Cos you'd blow your bloody fingers off, now quiet!" There's 5 or 6 variations for each unit and it's a bit of a shame as you can't really hear them during normal play. I think these are all downloadable from somewhere though if you're that mental about it (which I am). |
