| A company I worked for long ago hired an inspirational guy to come in and give us a pep talk, and it really amounted to "Decide to be happy, and you'll be happy." I laughed my face off about that, but then 10 years later it's "The Secret" and everyone is a millionaire except me.
On the subject of pep talks in general, a friend just got promoted and has a new manager who explained "At 211°, water is just water. Add one more degree, and water boils. We need to always make sure we're adding the one more degree." You can tell he's old because he's using Fahrenheit. |
