The question is does the credit go to the localizers or the original Japanese writers? Considering how much English language and slang has sunk into Japanese pop culture, I wouldn't be surprised at either answer.


The older I get, the more turned off I am by the haunted mockeries of human behavior found in all Japanese video games past, present, and future. They can not create even a single character that is not painfully artificial and incomplete, unpredictable and stilted. Japanese devs are alien robots wearing human-shaped costumes with pasted on smiles, consciously trying to remember to breathe and blink at the appropriate rates.

So, any redeeming qualities of Japanese dialogue is due to the localization team.
